Driving from San José, it will take you around 4 hours so first Take the Inter-American Highway north from San José . Past the towns of San Ramon,(1 hour from San José) Esparza (2 hours from San José), keep driving on the Interamerican highway and turn to the right at the Sardinal intersection (Rancho Grande where there is a gas station), once in the village of Sardinal, turn left at the soccer field.
Follow the road about 37 Km / 21 miles to the little town of Santa Elena Monteverde. First the road will be pave for about 19 kilometers then it will turn into a sometimes not nice gravel road . |
